And the celebrations continued in the locker room

The joy was boundless in the Milan side with Ibrahimovic puffing on a cigar in celebration after the match.

And in the footage shown on the Milan club media, there were also passionate celebrations in the dressing room, led by the Swedish striker of course.

Before knocking over a table amid all the chaos, the 40-year-old told his teammates and coaches: “Guys, keep calm. I’m not about to say goodbye!

“From day one, when I arrived and a few others arrived, very few believed in us. But then we realized that we had to sacrifice, suffer, believe and work.

“When that happened we became a group and when you are a group you can achieve the things we achieved. Now we are Italian champions.

“First of all I want to thank all the players. I speak now on behalf of the team, we have to thank Paolo [Maldini]Ricky [Massara] and Ivan [Gazidis]. It hasn’t been easy but we’ve been a real group this season.

“At the start of the season, nobody believed in us, but thanks to these principles, we have become stronger.

“I am very proud of all of you. Now, do me a favor: celebrate like champions. Because it’s not Milan that belongs to AC Milan, it’s Italy that belongs to AC Milan!
