Zelensky said Friday’s meeting “did not go as it was supposed to be”, adding: “It is unfortunate that this happened in this way,” he wrote. “It’s time to do things right. We would like future cooperation and communication to be constructive.”

Ukraine woke up on Tuesday that the United States “stopped and revised” his military aid in the country after a break in diplomacy last week.

In his post, Zelensky offered a declaration of manifest gratitude to the United States.

“We really appreciate how much America has done to help Ukraine maintain its sovereignty and independence,” he wrote.

“And we remember the moment when things have changed when President Trump provided Ukraine javelins. We are grateful,” he added, referring to the American anti-tank missile system sold to Ukraine during Trump’s first administration.

During Friday meeting at the Oval Office, Vice-president JD Vance accused Zelensky of being ungrateful For military support, the United States had provided.

“Did you say” thank you “once this meeting once?” Vance said before Trump told Zelensky that he was not “very grateful”.

Zelensky defended himself at the meeting and started an interview with Fox News in the hours later, saying “I am very grateful to the Americans for all your support.”

The meeting of the oval office between Zelensky and US officials last week had to conclude with the two parties that report an agreement that Granting access to the United States to rare earth minerals in Ukraine.

“We consider this agreement as a step towards greater security and solid security guarantees, and I really hope that it will work effectively.”

Zelensky also described the first stages of how war could be finished.

He wrote: “We are ready to work quickly to end the war, and the first stages could be the release of prisoners and truce in the sky – the ban on missiles, long -distance drones, energy bombs and other civil infrastructure – and the truce in the sea immediately, if Russia does the same.”

“Then we want to go very quickly to all the following steps and work with the United States to agree on a solid final agreement.”

A number of Ukraine allies have commented on the last last people of the Ukrainian president, including the British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, who welcomed “the constant commitment of Zelensky to ensure peace”.

It is “vital that all parties have worked on sustainable and secure peace for Ukraine as soon as possible,” said a press release from 10.

A few days before his meeting with Zelensky, the American president had met Macron, who went to Washington with a warning to Trump: “You can’t be weak against Putin.”

While European leaders gathered behind Zelensky after the shock, the NATO secretary general advised the Ukrainian chief to “find a means” to restore his relationship with Trump.

Addressing the BBC the next day, Mark Rutte said he had told him “that we have to respect” what Trump has done so far for Ukraine.

Zelensky’s statement is below Trump, which those from the American president’s camp had asked.

In Moscow, the Vladimir Putin team previously welcomed the United States’s break with military aid as the “best” contribution to peace.

“If the United States stops or take a break from these supplies, it will probably be the best contribution to the cause of peace,” Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov told Steve Rosenberg of the BBC.

Trump himself did not comment on the break to help, nor Zelensky’s response, but he made the Ukrainian leader earlier after his meetings with European allies on weekends.

A Sunday summit – Hosted by Sir Keir – was intended for a demonstration of support for Ukraine.

After the meeting, Zelensky said that an agreement to end the war between Ukraine and Russia was “still very, very far”.

Trump described this as the “worse declaration that could have been made by Zelensky”, in an article on his social platform Truth.

“This is what I said, this guy does not want there to be peace as long as he has the support of America,” wrote the president.
