“I am absolutely devastated by the death of my incredible friend, Liam,” Niall wrote in a long Instagram statement. “It just doesn’t feel real. Liam had an energy for life and a passion for work that was contagious. He was the brightest in each room and always made everyone happy and safe.”
The singer “Slow Hands” continued to remember his time by singing alongside Liam in one direction.
“All the laughter we have had over the years, sometimes on the simplest things, continue to come to mind by sadness,” added Niall. “We were able to live our craziest dreams and I will cherish every moment that we had forever. The bond and the friendship that we had does not often occur in a life.”
Niall, who had Liam and his girlfriend Kate Cassidy As guest during his recent concert in Buenos Aires, also detailed what it was to see his friend for the last time.
“I feel so lucky that I have seen it recently,” wrote Niall. “I unfortunately did not know that after having said goodbye and hugging it that evening, I would say goodbye forever. It is heartbreaking. My love and my condolences go to Geoff, Karen, Ruth, Nicola and of course his son carries. Thank you for everything, Payno. I love you brother.”
