Zach Bryan Releases New Album ‘The Great American Bar Scene’: Listen

The Great American Bar Scene is here. Zach Bryan celebrates Independence Day by releasing his fifth album, less than a year after his last one. The man doesn’t stop.

Last summer, the superstar alt-country singer-songwriter released his self-titled album, which spawned his first No. 1 hit, the Kacey Musgraves duet “I Remember Everything.” He’s since maintained a busy touring schedule, bringing his rousing live show all across America (I saw him last month—what a great experience!), released the Boys of Faith EP, released a video with Matthew McConaughey, suffered an arrest and a car accident, and hosted the likes of Sexyy Red and the daughter of “Hawk Tuah,” among many other activities.

Somehow he had time to make a new 19-song album during this period. The Great American Bar Scene The album includes Bryan’s recent singles, the transcendent “Pink Skies” and the Noeline Hoffman collaboration “Purple Gas.” It also features guest appearances from big names, including none other than Bruce Springsteen, who recently played with Bryan in Brooklyn. Springsteen guest stars on “Sandpaper,” an “I’m On Fire”-esque track that Bryan recently performed live. John Mayer, who also recently played with Bryan, appears on “Better Days,” while Bryan’s fellow countryman John Moreland appears on “Memphis; The Blues.” And on “Bass Boat,” Bryan’s close friend Morgan Meinhart, who previously sang on the 2022 triple album American Heartbreaklends some uncredited backing vocals.

Like all of Zach Bryan’s albums, The Great American Bar Scene There’s a lot to consider, and you can take it all in below.

The Great American Bar Scene is now available on Warner. Bryan is accepting submissions for his Instagram account @thegreatamericanbarscene, which currently features some of Bryan’s personal footage in bars across America.
