Iain Armitage made an Instagram post praising a specific character who left the show over the past two episodes.
Armitage, who plays young Sheldon Cooper in the series, wrote a heartfelt tribute ahead of the upcoming big reveal, which fans of the series and its predecessor, The Big Bang Theory, I knew for a long time that it was coming.
In the post, Armitage praised his on-screen father, George Sr., played by Lance Barber. “I love you, George!” I love you, Lance!!! he wrote in his caption.
In Thursday’s second episode, A new home and traditional torture in Texas, Young Sheldon saw the expected news: Sheldon’s father died when the central character was 14 years old. Now that Armitage’s character in the CBS prequel is 14, it’s about time.
The episode sees George suffer a heart attack at work.
Young Sheldon will air its final two episodes on CBS next Thursday, May 16.
