Even though Haney’s WBC super lightweight title wasn’t on the line for Garcia after losing 3.2 pounds yesterday, it was nonetheless a huge win for the 25-year-old.

Speaking after raising his hand, Garcia said: “God has done it, my heavenly father Jesus Christ, I give you all the glory.

“I couldn’t do it without you, I love you so much.”

He then addressed fans and media: “Come on, did you really think I was crazy? You’re all out of your mind… You overestimate everything, you hate me because I’m pretty and it’s crazy .” fucked up.”

Ryan Garcia reveals the hardest puncher he’s ever faced and says he wants to box Teofimo Lopez, Shakur Stevenson, Gervonta Davis and Sean O’Malley

Concerns were raised about Garcia’s mental well-being after he bombarded his supporters with a litany of bizarre social media posts ahead of fight night, ranging from conspiracy theories to a video claiming he was dead.

Many had written him off before he even stepped into the ring, but his speed and power proved too much for Haney, especially his signature left hook that caused the champion all sorts of problems all night long.

“My left hook is my left hook, it’s blessed by God.

“Every time I land it, it can knock you aside or knock you down…

“I need to collect my thoughts, I need a shot or a beer, I need a little alcohol to recharge my batteries.

“Dude, just kidding, can’t you guys be kidding?

“I knew I was in control after (the first knockdown), maybe my physical condition wasn’t the best, but in the end I got the job done.”

Haney and Garcia then verbally agreed to a rematch immediately after their fight while the champion was gracious in defeat.
