‘You need to have respect’ – Tommy Fury slams Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson in angry rant

Tommy Fury didn’t hesitate to rate Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.

Paul announced he would fight heavyweight legend Tyson on July 20, sparking widespread criticism given their 31-year age gap.

And Paul’s rival Fury, who beat the influencer on points in their March 2023 showdown, is unimpressed with his decision to feud with the retired former champion.

He said during a scathing rant at Jamal Niaz: “I don’t want to make a prediction on that. It’s a 60-year-old getting in the ring with a 26-year-old.

“It’s shameful. At the end of the day, if you’re a good man, you don’t want to fight a legend like that now.

“What he was is not what he is now. Those 10-second clips on the Internet or one-minute clips are great, but anyone can do it.

“The fight is not a minute, at 60 you will feel it.

“And I know one thing, he couldn’t beat me, so he gets in the ring with a 60-year-old man. But Jake Paul didn’t do himself any favors.

“Would I get in the ring with Mike Tyson if I was offered it tomorrow? No. You have to have some respect for yourself, I think.”

Paul has responded to his share of criticism and previously claimed that Fury himself rejected the July fight date.

A rematch between “TNT” and “Problem Child” still seems very likely and could take place in late 2024.

Fury is currently out of action after undergoing hand surgery, but is open to a sequel.

Mike Tyson claims he was ‘scared to death’ of boxing Jake Paul in bizarre pre-fight admission

Paul will for now face the challenge of former undisputed champion Tyson, who will be 58 when the two men collide.

Tyson has been warned by fans he could receive brutal punishment from Paul, after footage of his training emerged.

He also received medical warnings from doctors, concerned about his health and his age.

“Iron” Mike, however, refused to respond to calls to cancel the fight and lashed out at critics of the event.

The relief was clear when Tyson affirmed that the fight would now be fought under exhibition rules.

But Paul will nonetheless be looking forward to the lucrative clash, and Fury may well be waiting in the wings.
