“You may have met your match”

Simon Jordan may have finally met his match when legendary player and manager Graeme Souness joins White and Jordan next Monday.

The popular morning show has been taken to another level with the addition of the former Liverpool and Newcastle United manager with fireworks expected when Jordan and Souness, alongside host Jim White, bring their knowledge and judgment on the airwaves.

Graeme Souness will bring a lively debate to the table during White and Jordan starting Monday, August 8 at 10 a.m.

Although the addition of Souness could prove explosive, Jordan is looking forward to the Scotsman’s arrival and has been full of praise for what he will bring to the show.

Jordan told talkSPORT: “You listen to Graeme giving you gravity, opinion and full perspective understanding how a manager sees the world, how an elite player sees the world, how he sees it now and how he saw him before. What he watches and when he works with people in the conference room.

“So you’re going to get a really eclectic view of Graeme and I would have to imagine some hindsight on some of my opinions.”

White is used to dealing with Jordan’s blunt and blunt opinions, but adding one of football’s tough talkers into the mix could mean he may have to keep his whistle close at times.

“You may have met your match here,” White joked to Jordan, to which the former Crystal Palace owner replied, “Well look, I haven’t done it yet.”

Jordan continued: “I’m looking forward to it, I spoke to him briefly about two or three weeks ago so I think he’s a great signing by the guys at talkSPORT.

Souness isn’t afraid to give his honest opinion and will join the equally outspoken Simon Jordan on talkSPORT this season

“He adds something very different and that’s what we want. We want to continue to evolve the show.

Jordan revealed an anecdote involving Souness from his time as an owner at Selhurst Park.

“I always remember watching Graeme when I first bought Crystal Palace, he was the manager of Blackburn Rovers. I’ve never seen anyone give a fourth official so much abuse, so much volume at full throttle,” Jordan revealed.

“And what I love about him is that he won’t back down from his opinions and he can stand up for them, so I’m looking forward to it and for us it’s another opportunity to ‘have an adult show.’
