‘You made me a scapegoat!’ :: feldstein shouts in Urich during the joint probe of PM aid

A joint interrogation of two high aids of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu almost turned into a physical fight, said hours after a court on Friday or tribunal to stay in detention until Monday while freeing the other from resistance to the house.

In the so-called Qatargate affair, Jonatan Urich and Eli Feldstein are suspected of multiple offenses related to their alleged work for a pro-Qatar lobbying company, including contact with a foreign agent and a series of corruption charges involving lobbyists and businessmen.

After the pair offered a contradiction, the police decided to place them together in a room. The interaction on Wednesday quickly became heated and almost turned into a physical fight, according to Channel 12 news.

Quoting disclosed transcriptions, the network said that Feldstein has castigated Urich for refusing to express themselves in a separate case in which the first is accused of having disclosed information from the German daily Bild to scuttle a potential hostage agreement. Feldstein insisted that he acted on the orders of Urich on behalf of Netanyahu.

“I am a Zionist patriot. It’s pretty bad what you did to me, but how could you do this to my parents too? How many millions should my father pay because of this test? You killed my parents! ” Feldstein added.

Einhorn’s alleged involvement

In addition, the public broadcaster Kan reported that the police were in possession of many WhatsApp messages – most of Feldstein’s phone – which show Einhorn’s involvement in the advancement of Qatar’s interests.

Channel 13 News reported that investigators also had Whatsapp messages between Feldstein and Urich who would have accused the latter and contradict his claim denying that he knew Footlik, an American lobbyist for whom Urich and Feldstein are suspected of having carried out work while being employed as collaborators in Netanyahu.

The polls show that PM was wary

Also Friday, Channel 12 published a survey in which the respondents asked if they believed that Netanyahu’s claims knew nothing about the allegedly illegal contact of his assistants with Qatar. Fifty-nine percent declared that they did not believe the Prime Minister, against 30% of those who did it. Among the coalition voters, 28% of them do not believe it, while 58% do it.

A survey broadcast by Channel 13 asked if the respondents thought that Netanyahu’s assertion that the Qatargate survey is political, 57.7% saying no, 27.3% yes, and the rest does not know. A similar percentage – 59.2% – respondents also said that they thought that Netanyahu’s efforts to oust Shin Bet Ronen Bar leader Gali Baharav -Miara are motivated by political and personal reasons, against 30.7% who think that it is motivated by professional and substantial concerns.
