President Donald Trump made a flying visit to Daytona 500 on Sunday, welcoming the emblematic race as a celebration of American culture while the NASCAR season started. During Trump’s last visit to a high -level sporting event, Air Force One made an overview of the Daytona International Speedway before the race.
Trump, who became the first president to attend the Super Bowl last week last week, was then transported by the Florida circuit in a presidential procession.
The limousine of the American leader then led the pilots around the racing circuit while Trump sent the participants via a radio message.
“It’s your favorite president,” we could hear Trump saying to the drivers. “I am a big fan. I am a very big fan of you. How do you do that, I don’t know, but I just want you to be safe.
“You are talented people and you are great people and great Americans. Have a good day, have a lot of fun and I will see you later.
In a pre-courid message published earlier by the White House, Trump said that American values embodied Daytona 500 that he hoped to inaugurate a new “golden age” for the nation.
“The Daytona 500 brings together people from all walks of life – fans of life for the first time – they all join to celebrate a shared passion for speed, adrenaline and the thrill of the race,” said Trump.
“Since the roar of the engines on the track at the echo of” The Star-Spangled Banner “by browsing the stands, the Daytona 500 is a timeless tribute to speed, force and an inflexible spirit that makes the Large America.
“This spirit is what will feed the age of gold in America, and if we explain it, the future is really ours.”
Trump left the circuit in a long rain delay that disturbed the race during the first laps.
