LOS Angeles – The Yosemite National Park has announced that it had opened reservations for the summer campsite in a number of its popular campsite after a new reservation system and staff cuts have caused delays and questions on the moment they are again available.
Reservations for the dates between June 15 and July 14 in the Wawona and Hodgdon Meadow campsite, among others, were made available on Monday at 7 a.m. on Monday. Reservations for dates between July 15 and August 14 open at 7 a.m. on March 31. Reservations can be made on Recreation.Gov.
In February, the reserves were delayed indefinitely while the National Park Service received the approval of the administration of President Donald Trump on his new reservation system.
Then, the scanning of the cuts on the federal workforce announced by the administration a few days later did not manage to know when the reservations would be available again. About 10% of Park Service staff were lost in the middle of the cuts with hundreds of others who take buyouts offered by the administration.
But on March 20, the National Park Conservation Association announced that it was authorized to restore all the staff of the probationary park who was dismissed the previous month. The group said the job cuts caused the reservation delay.
Yosemite National Park had more than 4 million visitors last year. His visits culminate on average between June and August, according to Park Service Statistics.
