Tampa, Florida (AP) – New York Yankees second goal player, Jazz Chisholm Jr., was suspended for a match and sentenced to a fine by Major League Baseball following his ejection during a match at the Rays of Tampa Bay and the violation of MLB’s social media policy.
Michael Hill announced the decision.
Chisholm called on, delaying any penalty until a resolution. He started at the second goal of New York 1-0 victory on Tampa Bay on Friday evening, going 0 for 4 with two stick withdrawals.
Chisholm was ejected in the seventh round Thursday evening by the referee of the plaque John Bacon when Chishol was argued after a third strike called on a ground at a lot of Mason Montgomery which seemed low. It was his fifth career ejection and first with the Yankees.
Chisholm then posted on his X account: “Not even … Close !!!!!” With a mixed blasphemy, then removed the post.
MLB regulations prohibit the use of electronic devices during games. Social media policy prohibits “displaying or transmitting content that calls into question impartiality or otherwise denigrates a major league arbiter”.
“I did not think before I had something I said was ejectable but after probably,” said Chisholm after the match. “I am a competitor, so when I go there and I feel like I am right and you tell me something that, I think, does not make sense, I will get started and be upset.
“I lost my emotions. I lost my cool,” he added. “I have to be better than that. … I am definitely angry with myself for having lost my composure. ”
