Shaqiri silenced Serbian fans after scoring for Switzerland
It was the third consecutive World Cup at which Shaqiri scored, and the first Swiss to do so.
The only other players to score in each of the last three World Cups are Shaqiri, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
He has also scored in five major tournaments for Switzerland, including the previous two European Championships. Ronaldo is the only other player to also have this record.
Despite giving their side the lead in Group G, Serbia came back on top 2-1.
That would see Serbia go through, while Switzerland would have to draw and hope Cameroon don’t beat Brazil to progress.
