Barcelona manager Xavi has made a sensational U-turn on his decision to leave the club at the end of the season and will now continue in his role, according to reports.
The Spaniard previously rejected calls from the club to change his mind but has now decided to extend his stay following a meeting with club executives.
Positive discussions with Barcelona president Joan Laporta led to Xavi accepting the La Liga side’s proposal and will continue as head coach, as reported Fabrice Romano.
XAvi guided Barca to a first La Liga title of his tenure last season, but has struggled to replicate his domestic success this year as Real Madrid move to the top of the table.
The club’s difficult financial situation put pressure on new signings and a difficult run of form at the start of the year convinced Xavi that he wanted to leave Barcelona.
