X renews recruitment efforts for security and content moderation

Elon Musk’s X is bolstering its security and content moderation teams.

Over the past month, X has posted more than two dozen new jobs in the cybersecurity and content moderation space. The positions range from threat intelligence specialists on the security side to government affairs managers on the content side.

Most of the jobs will be located in Austin, where Musk plans to move X’s headquarters from San Francisco. The new hires will likely join X’s new content team in the Texas capital.

Other job postings for content moderation and cybersecurity positions are appearing for X’s offices in California, India and the Philippines.

X’s new hiring wave comes two years after Mr. Musk took control of what was then known as Twitter and cut thousands of jobs, including about 80% of the company’s trust and safety staff.

Critics say cuts to X’s content and cybersecurity teams have left the company vulnerable to problems abroad and at home. Last month, X was banned in Brazil because the company refused to censor accounts that government officials didn’t like.
