Tonight’s (October 20) episode of Raw kicked off with General Manager Adam Pearce making a major announcement.
He said world heavyweight champion Seth Rollins was already banged up coming out of his Crown Jewel match against Cody Rhodes, and was left even more hurt when The Vision turned on him in shocking fashion last week. As a result of this attack, Rollins has already undergone “major surgery” and will be out of action for an extended period of time. Pearce had no choice but to deprive Seth of the gold.
Rollins was not in the building to resolve the situation. Bron Breakker came out with the belt in his possession last week, so Pearce asked him to put it back… please.
The new champion will be crowned on November 1 during Saturday night’s main event when CM Punk faces the winner of a Battle Royal taking place later tonight on Raw.
Once Pearce left the ring, Paul Heyman took the mic and explained why The Vision turned on Rollins. You see, he just couldn’t “handle” the responsibility of leading The Vision into the future.
Ouch, that must be a big blow to the former champion’s ego.
