Former intercontinental champion Sami Zayn was officially transferred from the RAW list to Smackdown on Friday evening. The Canadian star revealed the news himself during a confrontation in the ring stretched with the line of the episode of tonight.
The show presented a segment in the ring with the reigning United States champion, Solo Sikoa, and its members of the faction, Tama Tonga, Tonga Loa and JC Mateo. They were interrupted by the arrival of Sami Zayn.
Zayn said he came for the only championship he had never held at WWE, the American title. After Sikoa told him to leave because he was not a member of the Smackdown list, Zayn dropped the bomb, informing the champion that he was officially transferred to the Blue brand.
The confrontation quickly became physical, Sikoa and his allies attacking Zayn. The backup was carried out by Jimmy USO and Jacob Fatu, which led to a team match of six men between the two in progress for the main event of the show.
Zayn has a legitimate claim on a title shot, because he recently pinned Solo Sikoa in a tag team match in the August 8 episode of Smackdown.
Zayn’s official move to the Bleue brand and its challenge for the United States championship immediately injected a new Babyface Top in the image of the main event on Friday evening. The complete confrontation between Sami Zayn and the line can be seen below:
