There were a few rumors this week about the champions of the WWE Tag team, Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins, missing the Cup for Wrestlemania 41 next weekend (April 19 and 20), and rather defending their belts on Smackdown the day before (April 18).
The last part of this rumor was confirmed this evening when WWE announced that the profits from the street will indeed defend their championship against the machine guns of Motor City next Friday on Smackdown, on the eve of Wrestlemania. It seems to be an extremely long shot that these belts will also be defended in Wrestlemania 41, but I suppose you never know it.
Here is the programming that WWE is currently advertising for the special edition of next Friday (April 18) of Wrestlemania Smackdown at the T-Mobile Arena de Las Vegas:
- Street profits (C) against Motor City Machine Guns for the WWE Tag team championship
- Zelina Vega, Kayden Carter & Katana Chance against Chelsea Green, Piper Niven & Alba Fyre
- Andre the giant Battle Royal
- John Cena returns
What is your reaction to the WWE booking decision on street benefits? Who will win the Andre the giant Battle Royal? Let me know in the comments below, cagesiders.
