Wrexham vs Shrewsbury Prediction
Shrewsbury have suffered three consecutive defeats to kick off their 2024/25 campaign.
They won last time out against Leyton Orient, but that’s not necessarily a resurgence in form as they have now lost every game and are bottom of the table with 0 points and -6 goal difference.
Wrexham, meanwhile, have enjoyed a decent unbeaten run with three wins and a draw.
Including a 3-0 win over Reading and narrow victories over Fleetwood and Wycombe.
Their latest win against Peterborough, however, marks their third consecutive clean sheet, which is all the more encouraging against Shrewsbury.
Wrexham vs Shrewsbury Betting Tips
- Wrexham win, over 1.5 goals, goals in both halves – 11/10
It’s difficult to have a 50/50 chance of winning with Wrexham, but for there to be a goal in each half, two goals in the whole game too and with Wrexham on a roll, it’s wise to add them to win.
The last time these two sides met in the league was in League Two in 2008, but their most recent meeting, in the FA Cup, saw Wrexham win 1-0 in January this year.
There weren’t many goals in this game, but as it was a cup game, the stakes were much higher with a 4th round match on the horizon.
There were also a few places between them, with Wrexham in League Two and Shrewsbury a league above.
Wrexham now have an improved squad while Shrewsbury’s squad remains largely unchanged and is expected to dominate.
