Wrexham secured promotion to League One after a thumping 6-0 win over Forest Green.

The Red Dragons were transformed following the takeover by Hollywood duo Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and their success has not waned.

Phil Parkinson’s men were aware that a victory against bottom side Forest Green would secure them a second successive promotion.

And victory at the RaceCourse Ground came in emphatic fashion, with Wrexham leading at half-time 4-0 thanks to Elliot Lee’s strike, Paul Mullin’s brace and a Ryan Inniss own goal.

The second half continued in a similar fashion, with Ryan Barnett and Jack Marriott. adding two more objectives to get the party started.

Thousands of supporters flooded the pitch after the final whistle, despite a stern warning from the club earlier in the day.

A statement read: “The Club would like to remind its supporters that it is crucial that the ground remains to its usual high standards, given that we still have a home game on the final day of the season.

“With this in mind, we would like to remind supporters of the implications of any potential pitch invasion, at any time, during the remainder of the 2023/24 campaign.

“At the end of last season, some clubs witnessed unsavory and unwelcome scenes with a small minority of people entering the pitch while other supporters entered the pitch in a celebratory mood.

“Entering the pitch constitutes a criminal offense and the real-world consequences of these actions have been felt by many, with some supporters receiving criminal records which can impact employment, education prospects and international travel.”
