North Allegheny was the only champion in title to drawing a seeded n ° 1 Friday when the WPIAL published supports for the next baseball qualifiers.
Tigers were classified first in class 6A. The other seeds went to Pine-Richland at 5A, Indiana in 4A, Riverside in 3A, Neshannock in 2A and Serra Catholic in A.
The qualifiers start Tuesday with first -round games in class A, 2A and 3A. Classes 4A and 5A are starting to play Wednesday while class 6A support begins on May 19.
The finals are from May 27 to 28 in Eqt Park in Washington.
In class 6a, the heads of the starters went to N ° 1 in North Allegheny (14-6), to No. 2 Canon-McMillan (14-6), n ° 3 Seneca Valley (14-6) and N ° 4 Norwin (12-8). North Allegheny and Canon-McMillan were champions of the section.
The baseball committee had more decisions to be made in class 5A.
The co-champions of section 3 of Pin-Richland (17-3) and Shaler (13-6) were classified respectively in the first and third. The champion of section 1 plum (18-2) finished second. Two other winners of the section, Bethel Park (16-4) and Thomas Jefferson (14-4), were classified fourth and fifth.
In class 4A, Indiana (19-1) obtained the seeded n ° 1 after finishing last year as a WPIAL and PIAA finalist. The co-champions of section 2 West Mifflin (15-5) and Elizabeth Forward (14-3) were classified second and third.
The co-champions of section 1 Beaver and Blackhawk were also divided into 4A support. Beaver (11-8) was the fourth and Blackhawk (10-7) sixth. Belle Vernon (13-5), the third place team in section 2, was classified fifth.
In class 3A, Wpial finalists from last year shot the first two seeds. But it was the second riverside (13-2) ranked first and the defending champion Avonworth (17-3) second. Ellwood City (14-5) drew the third seeded, Waynesburg (15-3) was fourth and South Park (12-6) finished fifth.
Complete 3A support was equality of five for the title of section 3. The baseball committee spread the five teams in the support under the name of n ° 6 of the Deer lakes (9-6), n ° 8 Burrell (12-8), n ° 10 LIGONIER VALLEY (10-7), n ° 12 MT. PLEASANT (12-6) and n ° 13 Freeport (13-66).
The committee also separated the co-champions from the section 2A section.
Neshannock (16-4) was sown first while Shenango (14-5), the team with which he shared the title of section 2, received the fourth seeded.
