World’s 10 best airports for food and drink revealed — 1 in NYC

These airports enhance the terminal dining experience.

Food & Wine announced its 2024 Global Tastemakers Awards on Tuesday, with a panel of more than 180 food and travel journalists revealing their favorite airports for food and drink.

Only three of the top ten are in the United States – and only one in New York.

John F. Kennedy International Airport in Queens came in seventh, with tastemakers raving that “the food selection is almost as vast as the airport itself.”

The inclusion of iconic New York flavors was praised – panelists recommend trying the Palm Bar & Grille in Terminal 4, which “brings the energy of the New York steakhouse to the airport.”

With JFK being an international hub, tastemakers highlighted the diversity of cuisines, such as soy and sake for Terminal 1 ramen and Terminal 4’s Mi Casa Cantina and restaurant.

Other U.S. airports on the list are Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (No. 8) and San Francisco International Airport (No. 9).

The crown, however, went to Singapore’s Jewel Changi Airport.

The tourist destination – which has the world’s tallest indoor waterfall – has more than 100 food vendors.

Airport offerings include “drink-worthy broth made from Japanese pork bones simmered for over 10 hours” and “award-winning chili crab.”
