World Central Kitchen demands independent probe into Israel’s deadly bombing – POLITICO

The number of aid workers killed in the war between Israel and Hamas has already exceeded 200 in six months – a figure never before reached in any conflict in a single year, according to UN humanitarian coordinator Jamie McGoldrick.

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu admitted that Israeli forces had “unintentionally” killed “innocent people” in Gaza. He added that “this happens in times of war,” as Israel announced it would launch an internal investigation.

“This was a military attack that involved multiple strikes and targeted three WCK vehicles,” the food charity said, adding that it had asked the Israeli government to preserve all evidence of the attack.

“The United States must do more to tell Prime Minister Netanyahu that this war must end now,” the organization’s founder and celebrity leader, José Andrés, told Reuters, questioning the White House’s decision to help Gaza while arming Israel.

International condemnation is growing and Israel’s most loyal allies have denounced the killings while calling for a rapid investigation.
