Images of a female disc golfer refusing to face a transgender opponent in Nashville have become viral, the same week after a shooter took a knee against a trans rival before going out.
The remarkable images show that Abigail Wilson intensifies to participate in his disc tournament in Tennessee against the trans Natalie Ryan opponent, only for Wilson, pretending to take his shot before turning to the spectators and to shout: “ women must be protected in our division. It’s unfair. I refuse to play.
She returned and gathered her personal effects before leaving her event, fans applauding her move.
Wilson underlined his position later Friday, sharing the images in a long legend that finished with her saying: “Today, I probably put an end to my career and it is because it is greater than me.”
Explaining his overall position, Wilson wrote: “Today, I refused to play the Open of Music City. Women deserve to be protected by their division protected by sex. It’s unfair.
“I worked so hard to get to this point to play on the DGPT, but the sacrifice of my career and my hard work is worth it if it means that I can make a difference for other women, girls, nieces and the future of our sport.

“If you feel how wrong it is that biological men are in competition in divisions protected by women in sport, it is now time to speak and stand up.”
She continued: “I took this position today because I had anxiety at the idea of playing with the openly trans player on tour due to the demonstrations planned for this year and threats of violence during the event last year.
“After talking yesterday with a member of the DGPT staff, they clearly indicated that they did not want to change me in an earlier TEE time with regard to my security fears on the route.
“They assured me that there would be bags of bags, police and security during the event. On arrival this morning, there was no security or police presence, I was also authorized entry even if I did not have my references. There was no security precaution.
Ryan has not yet publicly responded to the incident. The Disc Golf Pro Tour, meanwhile, published its own statement on Friday.
They said Wilson would not be punished for his protest, but was held firmly against his statements on the security of the event.
“The DGPT supports the right of all competitors to protest and make their voices heard, and no disciplinary, official or other measure, is taken for yesterday’s demonstration,” said the organization.
“No rule or politician has been raped. We encourage players to do what they think is fair, and Ms. Wilson is invited to compete on the same rules of the game as all the other players.

Wilson was resolved in his convictions, but on Saturday, by publishing another Instagram statement and saying: “If you want to help, please defend female athletes each time you get. Share your voice with the PDGA and the DGPT. Thank you all.
The support of the community has been overwhelming and I apologize if I am unable to respond to the love and support of everyone at the moment. I will do my best to come back to everyone and I appreciate you and respect you all!
She also explained: “I am a mason of trade tiles. I work an extremely hard, laborious and dirty job to start going on tour.
“Each penny that has been placed in my disc career on disc has come out of my own pocket just so that I can try to climb my way towards the top by merit, determination and perseverance. Believe it or not, the disc Golf is not lucrative if you are not in the top 10. ”
Earlier in the week, USA Fender Stephanie Turner was disqualified from her tournament after having taken a knee and refused to compete with a transgender opponent.
