No foul play is suspected in the woman’s death, authorities said.

A woman who was found dead in a pond in Braintree on Monday has been identified, authorities announced Tuesday.

Mulain Chin, 79, of Weymouth, had gone to the park with a family member so they could walk together, said David Traub, communications director for Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey.

When Chin did not arrive at the planned meeting location, the family member reported him to a Braintree police officer who was at the park.

Chin was later discovered in shallow water near a small bridge in the park, Traub said.

The medical examiner conducted an autopsy on the body Tuesday and found no signs of foul play in the death, Traub said.
