Woman dies after 2-car crash in Irvine Saturday night – Orange County Register

A woman was killed in an accident involving two cars in Irvine on Saturday evening June 3.
The crash happened at 5:51 p.m. on Irvine Boulevard east of Sand Canyon Avenue, according to Irvine Police Sgt. Karie Davis.
“When officers arrived at the scene, a white BMW 430i and a gold Lexus RX300 were involved in a side collision,” Davies said. “The Lexus was occupied only by the driver and the BMW was occupied by the driver and four passengers.”
A 47-year-old woman sitting in the backseat of the BMW was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead, the sergeant said. His identity was not immediately revealed.
Two other BMW passengers were taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, Davies said.
The Lexus driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, she said. Neither alcohol nor drugs appear to have played a role in the accident.
Anyone with information about the crash can contact Detective Joshua Balos at 949-724-7024.
Irvine Boulevard was closed for the Sand Canyon Avenue investigation, along with the southbound on-ramp to Highway 133, which becomes Laguna Canyon Road.
