Woman arrested after suspected drunken driving crash in Clovis, police say

CLOVIS, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A woman is in custody after a vehicle chase through the streets of Clovis and Fresno on Monday, which began when the woman arrived at her former workplace under the influence, a Clovis police said. Department said.

Police say the woman showed up around 12:30 a.m. at the Walmart store where she worked at Shaw Avenue and Peach Avenue and started a disturbance. Police say she was described as being under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

The woman then got into a vehicle and ended up crashing into two police cruisers – and a third parked car – before fleeing, according to officers.

Officers say they then continued to pursue the suspect until they arrived at First Avenue and Nees Avenue in Fresno and the vehicle stopped. The woman was taken into custody and was slightly injured during the multiple collisions, police added.

The woman was arrested and is expected to be booked into the Fresno County Jail. His identity has not been officially released.
