Woman, 87, crushed to death by own car after she thought she parked it: cops

An 87-year-old woman was killed Wednesday when she was struck by her car in a “freak accident” in Brooklyn, police said.

The elderly woman thought she parked her blue 2013 Toyota Corolla in a driveway, but left the sedan running just before 3 p.m. outside a home on West 10th Street in Gravesend, according to cops.

“When she was walking behind the vehicle, the vehicle hit her,” a New York police spokesperson said.

Police were called to the scene and found the victim seriously injured in the head and torso.

Paramedics rushed her to NYU Langone Hospital in Brooklyn, but she could not be saved.

Cops were not releasing his identity Wednesday evening pending notification of family.
