The first consecutive winter storms of this week brings snow, ice and rain to a section of 1,500 miles from the east of the United States on Tuesday morning.
Another winter storm will reach some of the same rapid estate areas and pour the most substantial snow of the season over Chicago. The third storm is the most serious threat of flooding that southern California has faced since the devastating forest fires in January.
Everyone is another link in a chain of uninterrupted disturbing storms since the beginning of February.
Here is the last:
• Snow will accumulate: It snows on certain parts of the Tennessee valley and the Appalachians on Tuesday morning, where 1 to 3 inches have already fallen. There is no longer to come Wednesday morning while the storm follows the east. Washington, DC, could get up to 6 inches of snow on Tuesday, which could make a trip during the afternoon trip.
• State of emergency and school closures: The governor of Virginie Glenn Youngkin declared the state of emergency, and the Virginia Department of Transportation urged residents to “stay outside the roads once the storm” ” Several state schools are closed. Tuesday’s storm follows further south than one or the other of last week and puts areas that avoided a winter disorder in the middle of a husband.
A strip of snow falls north of an area of the Appalachians which should obtain the worst ice. Heavy snow could fall and accumulate quickly in certain regions, including Washington, DC. The new snow will add to this day an already impressive winter total. So much snow fell in Washington, DC, since December 1 as in the last two winters combined.
Snow will also cover Pennsylvania games in New Jersey and South New England. The city of New York will probably see an inch or two of snow.
A high rain is soaked with an area south of the storm of the storm. There is a risk of flooding in a large area from south to Wednesday. A risk of level 2 of 4 is in place for certain parts of each state of Texas in Carolines – including many regions which are still recovering from Hurricane Helene – during this period, according to the Weather Prediction Center.
Storm two: Wednesday and Thursday
The next storm will be formed in the center of the United States while its predecessor always brings snow and ice to the east and rain to the south. Snow, ice and rain are expected in the plains Tuesday at night Wednesday morning.
Kansas governor Laura Kelly published an emergency proclamation on Sunday in the event of a disaster due to the storm.
The winter disorder will develop quickly on Wednesday to encompass a large part of the Midwest and the northeast games by the evening.
Most of the storm will be on the east coast by Thursday morning with snow and ice covering the northeast and the rain falling further south. Some parts of the East will only have a few hours between the end of the first storm and the second begins.
The snow totals of this storm will be the highest in the plains and the Midwest. On Wednesday, they could tackle the two figures at Kansas City, Missouri – almost double what the city generally gets in February.
Two -digit snow is also possible in Chicago on Wednesday, which would be enough to be the most substantial in the city so far this season. Just over 7 inches of snow have fallen since December, when the city generally records almost two feet now.
The ice will again present an important problem just south of the place where the heaviest snow falls. At least one light ice glaze – enough to make travel difficult – is possible in Oklahoma and Kansas through the Ohio valley and the Northeast.
Parts of the Appalachians will obtain another series of ice from this storm. Some of the locations have reached the harshest from the first storm may not notice a rupture between the two storms while glazed precipitation slows down but does not stop completely on Wednesday afternoon.
This storm will return the rain and thunderstorms in the south Wednesday. Some thunderstorms could become serious in certain parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama from the afternoon and a level 2 threat is in place.
The storm will end largely Thursday evening.
This storm will be different from that of the previous two in that it will first slam in California completely formed.
The storm supplied by the atmospheric river will pack a significant punch and since the start with the rain starting a large part of the state of the state early Thursday morning. The rain will become heavier throughout the day because it will reach more inside the land and spread over the entire length of the state.
Parties of the counties of Los Angeles and Ventura of California – including the areas burned by palisades and Eaton fires – are under a risk of level 3 of 4 Thursday of flood Thursday, according to the WPC. Thursday, more than 35 million in the rest of the state are lower than a level 2 risk of 4 in flood. The threat area includes San Francisco, Sacramento, San Diego and the areas between the two.
Strong rains have an even greater risk for areas burned by recent dead forest fires.
“This storm has the potential to bring fatal debris into and below recent burning scars,” warned the NWS of Los Angeles on Monday. A thumb or two rain is possible in the Los Angeles basin.
The threat to burning scar zones intervenes while civil servants attack the effort to eliminate the dangerous debris left by fires. The County of Los Angeles recently strengthened storm preparations by cleaning debris basins, installing concrete barriers and placing sandbags in fire areas to filter debris and protect the temporary sewers.
This storm will also bring heavy snow to the Sierra Nevada in California and the West mountain regions. He will follow the east Thursday evening and Friday and reach the plains early Saturday morning.
A boost of atmospheric energy Revigorate the powerful storm and considerably widened its size once it reaches the center of the United States. The snow will explode above the midwest on Saturday and reach a large part of the northeast in the evening. A little gréil and ice can mix with snow in the northeast with areas soaked mainly from the rain further south of Saturday evening.
Strong rains and thunderstorms will dominate the warm side of this storm. Certain thunderstorms could become serious, especially in certain parts of the South. Dangerous thunderstorms can occur at any time of the year – some have become fatal last week in Tennessee.
The large storm will continue to beat the east coast on Sunday before ending on Monday morning. But it may not be the end of an occupied winter storm model because another storm is possible in the middle of next week.
