Pittsburgh – THE Pittsburgh Steelers have completed their first week in OTA and will meet again next Tuesday for the second week of these practices. Who comes out of the first to look better than them?
Here are some winners and losers from the first week of Aceurs OTA:
Winner: Wr Roman Wilson
In a short time, the biggest winner of the week from afar. Roman Wilson entered the first week with a lot to prove, but it seems ready and in challenge. It has a rare line with its instant explosiveness and acceleration, and this can be seen on the ground.
The injuries of the ankle and the hamstrings last year of the past, because Wilson is entirely healthy and looks great. Did he add varnish to his routes?
Wilson seems to have a more effective process in and out of the breaks, maintaining its elite acceleration throughout the road rather than letting the defensive backs return to the photo.
Wilson prepared a defensive back on a single game route, then judged them for a considerable gain after taking. These pieces were not there last year, even before it was injured.
It’s been only three days but a good start for Wilson.
Loser: Wr Roc Taylor
You cannot be a winner if you are not there, and Roc Taylor To this exact problem. On Wednesday, Steelers now downloaded a video showing that Taylor working on the side, a process and signs for a player who usually returns from an injury.
Taylor is talented, but he must be healthy to show it, and as he was not, he has lost precious representatives with DK Metcalf not around.
Winner: RB Kaleb Johnson
One of the big winners of the week, Kaleb Johnsonis already bent how much he is oriented towards details as a player, an excellent sign for any recruit. He promised to solve his problems of protection against passes, and Johnson worked tirelessly with Jaylen Warren and Kenneth Gainwell to change this.
“We had exercises today and it was direct protection of the passes. I really like that, because it is something on which I really have to work and something I really want to be reliable when it results,” said Johnson. “I’m just there to work on my technique, my hips and just like that. It was good. (Jaylen) Warren was of great help for me. ”
Count on the train for Johnson. Even in 11 against 11, which are limited to the OTA, Johnson flashed and has soft hands than you think. He was not asked to do it a lot in Iowa.
Loser: QB Will Howard
Howard had a first self-written “gross” practice; The eyes test corresponded to this. He was mainly linked to his leg game, which will be of the utmost importance because he clashes in the form of the NFL.
“The second when I spoil myself and I get into my head and stop, that’s when the problems happen. I felt like day 1, I was not really comfortable, I didn’t really know where my feet were, was a little time. And then days 2 and 3, I think I was much better,” said Howard.
It is far from unusual for a quarter recruit to have difficulties of the first week, so it will be much more on how Howard progresses in the weeks and months than everything. Nothing to worry, but it has not entered and turns it on automatically.
Winner: CB CORY TRICE
If he can stay healthy, the Steelers may have something in Cory Trice. He had incredibly promising representatives against Ja’marr Chase in their match last year, and Trice was released in the first week of OTA with a strong start of off -season.
Can it avoid the injury bug and put pressure for a role this season? We will see, but Trice looked fluid and instinctive to start his third year of OTA.
