He won’t do a double take. Winner of the Dakar in 2024, Carlos Sainz was forced to abandon this Monday evening, at the end of the second stage of the Dakar. Author of a rollover this Sunday in the first part of this “48 hours flat”, Carlos Sainz was able to complete the 967 km of special, losing more than 1h30′.
But during the inspection of his Ford Raptor, the FIA technical stewards noticed that the roll bar of his Ford Raptor had been too damaged to allow him to restart the race in essential safety conditions. The Spaniard’s Dakar therefore ends there.
