New York – New York (AP) – The latest choice of the reading club of Oprah Winfrey is a memory of an old friend and personal hero, Tina Knowles.
Winfrey announced Tuesday that she had selected Knowles’ matriarch, which was published this week. Their interview, recorded in a Starbucks in Chicago, can be watched on the Winfrey YouTube channel.
“Some of you may know Tina Knowles like the mother of a superstar – like in Beyoncé – but she is also an entrepreneur, a fashion designer, a philanthropist, and now the author of this fascinating memory of her trip to become the world figure that she is today,” Winfrey said in a press release. “We learn how the strength and wisdom of women who preceded his passion to achieve and gave him the ability to feed her own daughters in the incredible women they are today.”
Winfrey likes to surprise her choices of reading clubs when she tells them the news, sometimes even on a zoom conversation. Knowles said in a statement that it was said that a print company was on the phone, only to find himself talking with Winfrey.
“When I heard her voice, I cried!” Said Knowles. “I have such a rich story with Oprah. Writing a book on your life is a frightening thing. It’s almost like having a baby. It’s so personal and sacred to you that you want people to love it and never say anything wrong.
