San Francisco – Spend one night, Wilmer Flores.
Flores appreciated the best match of his 13 -year -old career, hitting three circuits – a big slam, a three -point circuit and a solo shot – on the way to record a career record eight products produced while the giants broke athletics, 9-1, in their first match in the bay region.
Flores provided more than enough race support for Logan Webb, which granted a race on a top of eight rounds with four stick withdrawals.
At the bottom of the third, Flores entered the shot box with a golden opportunity to do damage: loaded bases, no withdrawals. Flores got ahead in the count, 2-1, against JP Sears of athletics before encouraging five consecutive throws. Flores ran the full account on the ninth launch of the At-Bat, then crowned a 10-stroke battle by sneaking an average quick ball on the fence of the left field to give the giants an advance of 4-0.
Flores night, of course, was just beginning. At the bottom of the sixth, Flores entered the plate with runners the first and the second. He brought them home – and himself – with a swing, a three -point circuit that extended San Francisco’s advance at 7-0.
Apparently, two circuits were not enough.
Flores crowned his night at the bottom of the eighth round with his only runner -free circuit on the base, a solo shot which gave him three circuits in a match for the first time in his career.
