In recent years, the “Tash push” has become a practically unstoppable piece for the Eagles of Philadelphia.
The short-range game, which implies all the offensive outfit pushing the quarter-Arrière a few meters, was a key element in the success of the Eagles recently, helping the team win the Super Bowl last season.
But could we have seen the last of the “fraternal push”?
The future of the play could be decided on Tuesday at the meeting of the owners of the NFL when they vote to possibly prohibit the thrust of TUSH after the Packers of Green Bay submitted a proposal to prohibit it on the security and competitiveness measures.
On Tuesday, there is a plethora of other possible rules of rules on the owners’ file – including the modification of the rules of regular season extensions, the rereading of the aid, the seeding of the Joker and to make the new dynamic launch rules which were tested last year – but the push of Tash is the one that has the most attention on it given the way it has changed the way in which many offenses in the league have worked.
In order to adopt a motion, it will take a majority of 75% in favor of the change of rule among the owners of the NFL, with 24 out of 32 votes required.
The Tash Pouss increased a few years ago when the Eagles began to deploy it in short-yarding situations.
It is a racing game in which the ball is broken in the quarter-tree, which then plunges forward in the offensive line. While the line editors are advancing, the quarter-rear is then pushed from behind by a tight end and a ball carrier, similar to a rugby scrum.
Combined efforts generally lead to a short-cut gain which is sufficient for a first test or a touchdown and the version of the Eagles is generally unstoppable.
The quarter -arre of the Eagles Jalen Hurts – who is the person with the ball in his hands and is pushed from behind – has greatly benefited from this room, with the majority of his 52 affected in the last four seasons from the push of Tash.
He became a key driving factor in the team reaching the Super Bowl two years ago and in his success the title last season.
Like many other aspects across the NFL, other teams have tried to adopt Tash push with a variable success, while the Eagles remain the masters.
Despite the success of The Tash Push, he has become a controversial game, some competing, it takes competitiveness and makes football less exciting.
The game, which has similarities with the old school quarter that Sneak used in the first days of football, has also led to security problems, players pushing each other with all their strength nearby.
Green Bay, who was beaten via the Eagles in the Wild Card Round of the Playoffs while Philadelphia won the Super Bowl Lix, was the team to deposit the movement to ban the game, with the CEO and president of the Mark Murphy team saying that Tush’s push was “bad for the game”.
“There is no skill involved and it is almost an automatic first on court games or less,” added Murphy. “We should come back to ban the runner’s push.

The rules proposal suggest that the rules change to “prohibit an offensive player from pushing a teammate who was aligned directly behind the Vivaneau and receives the Snap, immediately at the Snap”.
Buffalo Bills ‘head coach Sean McDermott, – one of the three coaches of the League competition committee – said that the Packers’ proposal “removes the force”, by prioritizing the well -being of players.
“Traditional quarter-Arrière sneaks have been around for a long time,” he told journalists on Monday. “I think it is the context of this one that is important. Then you know that the push adds the force of force, which is once again, I think that exponentially raises my concern.”
As one of the most controversial pieces in the NFL, public opinion seems divided on the future of Tash push.
While many coaches and members of the Front Office have not publicly commented on the issue, those who seemed divided on the question of whether he should remain a key element in the game book of a coach.
McDermott said that the discussion mainly concerns the safety angle of Tash push, while admitting that his team will continue to execute a “form” of the game if it is not prohibited.
“As far as I’m concerned, even if there is no important data at this stage, my biggest concern is the health and safety of players, above all,” said McDermott. “It is strength, additional strength, then posture of players, which is invited to execute this type of game, this is where my concern is coming.”
Pittsburgh steelers’ head coach Mike Tomlin said there was not enough statistical evidence to suggest that there was a problem of injury related to Tash’s push, but said he and his peers listened to the experts.
The first-year head coach of New York Jets, Aaron Glenn, admitted that the thrust of Tash’s push occupies a large part of his defensive planning.
“They have done a good job to create a piece that is difficult to stop. For me, when I come back now, I am in my defensive coaching mentality, my work is to stop this game,” Glenn told journalists. “I think I’m going to answer it like that. My job is to stop this game. So, whatever, there will be another game that will be released. It will be difficult to stop. And our job is to stop this game. ”
Conversely, there are others who support Tash’s push.
When the packers first submitted their proposal, the Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni described this “little unfair” that the teams wanted to remove a game since they had spent so many hours perfecting him.

“I almost feel a little insulted because we work so hard at this game,” he said. “The number of things we have examined on how to coach this game, the fundamentals. There are a thousand plays, but that comes to the way you teach the fundamentals and how the players pass and make the fundamentals.”
Sirianni continued: “I cannot tell you how many times we practice snap, we practice the game … The fact that it is an automatic thing, we work really, really hard and our guys are talented in this room. It’s a bit insulting to say that we are good so it’s automatic.”
Sirianni also told Mike Garafolo from NFL Network that he thought he had the support of three former Eagles coaches who are currently taking care of head coach around the League.
“All I am going to say about this is (Jonathan) Gannon, Steichen and (Kellen), Moore in Garafolo from New Orleans,” Indianapolis Colts “, better for that,” Sirianni told Garafolo.
“They are in the position (head coach) at the moment because of this game. So the three, I better have these three votes right there and the voting of the Eagles. I at least know that there are four of us. ”
