Will the MNS of Raj Thackeray rely at BJP before Lok Sabha’s polls? – Firstpost

The Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party has set noble objectives for the next Lok Sabha elections. To achieve the objective of more than 400 seats, the saffron party leaves no non -returned stone to strengthen the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). The Maharashtra is an important state for the party in this regard.

After the Uttar Pradesh, the Western State with its 48 seats sends the most deputies to the lower chamber of the Parliament. The BJP, which is in alliance with the Shiv Sena and Ajit Pawar faction, led by Eknath Shinde (NCP), has now contacted the Maharashtra Navnnirman (MNS) of Raj Thackeray.

Let’s take a closer look.

Raj Thackeray Meeting Amit Shah

MNS chief Raj Thackeray, who arrived in Delhi last night, met the Minister of the Interior of the Union, Amit Shah, Tuesday, March 19. The meeting triggered speculation according to which he can join the NDA block led by the BJP before the next Lok Sabha surveys.

BJP National Secretary General Vinod Tawde was also present during the group.

“I was told to come to Delhi. So I came. Let’s see, ”said Thackeray after arriving in Delhi on Monday.

Although both parties have remained tight on a possible pre-polle alliance NDTV.

It is not clear if the BJP will respond to this request. About Indian Express Sources, the BJP should concede the southern seat of Mumbai at the MNS.

The deputy minister -in -chief of Maharashtra, becomes Fadnavis, and the president of the state of the BJP, Chandrashekhar Bawankule, had met the top brass of the BJP on Monday in which the link with MNS was discussed, reported the newspaper .

During discussions on the alliance with the MNS, Fadnavis said last week: “Today, I can not say anything officially … If a decision is made, we will let you know”.

After Tuesday’s meeting, MNS chief Bala Nandgaonkar said that a decision would be made in the coming days. “He (Raj Thackeray) said that positive discussions had taken place and that a decision would be made in two to three days. I cannot say how many seats have been requested but all requests have been discussed positively … “It was cited by Ani.

The development comes as the Mahayuti Alliance of the Saffron Party in the Maharashtra has not yet finalized the sharing of seats in the State for the polls of Lok Sabha. The bump would be on a handful of seats.

Why does the BJP court the MNS?

MNS chief, Raj Thackeray, is the distant cousin of Uddhav Thackeray. Raj, the nephew of the father of Uddhav and the late founder of Shiv Sena, Bal Thackeray, left the party then unusual in 2005 and then formed his own Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.

His release had come to follow the differences with his Uddhav cousin.

Raj Thackeray’s MNS has carried out its best electoral elections in the surveys of the 2009 Maharashtra Assembly, winning 13 seats.

During the elections of the 2014 Assembly, the MNS challenged 232 of the 288 constituencies, but managed to win only one seat. The party counting remained one in the 2019 ballot boxes.

The MNS won six corporators in the 2017 British surveys 2017 Corporation 2017. However, all, except one, joined the Sena Sena then individual led by Uddhav Thackeray.

About Indian ExpressSome in the BJP initially believed that a link with the MNS was not necessary because it is not a strong force in the Maharashtra.

Raj Thackeray, who is a powerful speaker, has also courted the controversy in the past on his remarks against the Indians of the North, which attracted Flak with several parts, including the BJP.

Then, why is the BJP eager to forge an alliance with its MNS? The answer lies in marathi votes. The BJP would try to make a breach in the Shiv Sena faction, led by Uddhav Thackeray.

“Raj Thackeray with his oratory skills will play an important role in the attack on the opposition. He may not have a solid partner network or a potential to win many seats, but MNS still has a support base in Thane, Nashik, Mumbai, Kalyan and Pune, “said a source of the BJP Indian Express.

The Maharashtra’s political landscape has experienced a remarkable transformation in recent years. In the 2019 Lok Sabha Sabha surveys, the BJP and the UNIVIS SENA disputed together, obtaining 41 on the 48 seats of the State. The Alliance also won the elections of the State Assembly later that year.

However, the SHIV SENA separated from the BJP due to a dispute over the sharing of power. Uddhav Thackeray then joined the NCP led by Sharad Pawar and the Congress to form the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

It was not the end. In June 2022, Eknath Shinde rebelled against Uddhav, dividing Shiv Sena into two factions. The MVA government fell. Shinde came to power with the support of the BJP in the state.

Shiv Sena of Uddhav Thackeray was divided in two after the rebellion of Eknath Shinde in 2022.

Uddhav has lost the name and symbol of the party against the Shinde camp.

Likewise, the NCP of Sharad Pawar was divided into two after the revolt of his nephew Ajit Pawar last year. After losing the name and symbol of the party, the Senior Pawar faction is now known as NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar).

Thus, the battle in the Western state has become multi-volume this year. The BJP seems to want to take no chance of Maharastra despite the support of Sena led by Shinde and the NCP faction of Ajit Pawar.

“The BJP believes that it should extend its alliance more by obtaining all the parties sharing the same ideas,” said a superior political observer of the Safran Party Indian Express.

Taking a search to the BJP for the possible link with the MNS, Uddhav said that the saffron party was trying to “steal” a “Thackeray” to win the elections.

“The BJP knows very well that they do not obtain votes on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the Maharashtra. People vote here in the name of (BAL) Thackeray. This awareness has prompted the BJP to try to steal outside leaders (BJP Fold), “he said in the Nanded district, reported PTI.

Accusing the BJP of trying to appropriate his father’s inheritance, the chief of Shiv Sena (UBT) said that he was not disturbed if the BJP formulated an alliance with his distant cousin.
