Things are not good for the deputy for the Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mahua Moitra. Imagined in the liquidity line, the Lok Sabha’s ethics committee would have called its conduct of nature “contrary to ethics” and “heinous”.
The committee, which will also meet today to adopt its project of report, also recommended that the disqualified deputy for the Chamber for his participation in the scandal.
The news of his possible expulsion occurred just a few hours after the BJP deputy, Nishikant Dubey, said that the Lokpal had ordered a CBI investigation against his deputy for TMC, Mahua Moitra, on his alleged corruption complaint.
We are examining more closely what are the recommendations made by the Ethics Committee and what it means for the Matra political career.
Ethics panel results
The Ethics Committee wrote an exhaustive report of 500 pages against Moitra in the cash scam for the request and concluded that there had been several crimes on the part of the deputy. The panel of his report concluded that the deputy of the TMC had shared his parliamentary references with “unauthorized people”, took money and amenities of the businessman Darshan Hiranandani and it was “a crime seriously “on the part, which calls for a” serious punishment “.
According to a NDTV Report, the committee’s conclusions indicate: “The monetary trace of the cash transaction between SMT Mahua Moitra and Shri Darshan Hiranandani as part of a” counterpart “should be the subject of an investigation by the Government of India legal, institutional and limited to time. “”

The panel, directed by Vinod Kumar Sonkar, recommended that Moitra be expelled from the membership of the 17th Lok Sabha because of his “very reprehensible conduct, contrary to ethics, heinous and criminal”. And the 15 members of the panel will meet around 4 p.m. today and they will vote to make a decision and send their final discoveries to the president of Lok Sabha, Om Birla.
Interestingly, it has been reported that members of the Panel Congress can submit a dissent note, with Times of India reporting that the ruling party “forced its hand”, because it exceeds opposition deputies to the committee of ethics.
The Ethics Panel and MITRA
The results of the ethics committee come after Moitra appeared before her on November 2. Armed with three bags – he quickly became a meme on social networks – she entered the hearing, refuting all the charges against her.
However, the deputy of the TMC came out of the hearing, accusing the president of having submitted him to “vastraharan proverbial” (stripping). Leaving the competition, Moitra had told journalists: “What kind of meeting was it?” They ask all kinds of dirty questions. They choose anything. Talk about waste.
Moitra also wrote to the speaker OM Birla on the same problem, putting her letter on the social media platform X.

It is reported that during the hearing, the president of the BJP, the deputy of the BJP, Vinod Kumar Sonkar, asked “very personal questions” in Mititra. The opposition deputies, who were part of the hearing, said that they had said to the president several times that the questions were “unworthy and degrading for the deputy lady”, asking him not to continue such a line questioning.
We can hear the Danes of BSP to tell journalists while storming the meeting that the panel asked the deputy of the TMC on whom she had conversed with “at night” and what she talked about.
Moitra speaks
Shortly after the reports revealed that the panel had suggested an expulsion from Muitra, she retaliated, writing on X: “Happy to see Adani TV has a copy of the report of the Contribute Committee before he was placed before The committee tomorrow. Just like the Lok Pal references announced via the hired help. »»

Moitra argued that there was no badness on his part and that no money exchanged hands at all. She also declared that she shared a close friendship with the businessman Darshan Hiranandani and he had given her gifts that she had required.
The next steps
The ethics committee will meet today, will vote on their report and transmit it to President Om Birla. It is up to him to take measures on the question – he will decide whether moitra must be expelled or not.
In particular, there have been cases in the past of deputies expelled from the house for this reason. In 1951, HG Mudgal, a deputy for the provisional parliament, was found guilty of promoting the interests of a commercial association in exchange for financial services by asking questions. However, he resigned before being expelled.
Several years later, in 2005, a bite operation of a private channel showed that 10 members of the Lok Sabha accepting money for asking questions in Parliament. Again, a special committee was appointed which deemed them guilty of a member’s improper driving and recommended his expulsion which was accepted by the Chamber. All deputies have been expelled.
If the speaker goes ahead with the recommendations of the panel and expels Moitra, he will set up a new test of strength between the benches of the treasure and the opposition in the Lok Sabha. In addition, it is more than likely that moitra will resume the case in court.
We will have to wait and see what will happen next. What we know is that the future of Moitra remains uncertain.
