Will BJP choose a woman or a chief of the OBC to direct the state? – Firstpost

The state of Chhattisgarh has shaken up the forecasts of exit survey, the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party being ready to win the ballot boxes with a fairly enormous margin on the congress. The BJP won a victory in 56 seats in the state, while the Congress had only 33.

By the way, it is the greatest victory of the BJP in the state, because it was carved from Madhya Pradesh in 2000. During the assembly elections organized for the first time in Chhattisgarh in 2003, the BJP won 50 seats and during subsequent surveys in 2008 and 2018, then then Minister -in -chief Raman Singh led the party to set up 50 seats and 49 seats (41.04% of votes), respectively and ruled state for 15 uninterrupted years.

In 2018, the BJP underwent a massive defeat in the hands of the Congress and was reduced to 15 seats.

The results being almost official, it is time for the BJP to decide on its chief ministerial candidate. In particular, the party had not presented any leader in the party’s state unit like the face of the countryside, which has now asked everyone – “Kaun Banega CM?”

We take a closer look at state policy and provide you with some of the probables that could soon sit on the chair of the chief minister.

Raman Singh

Former Minister -in -State, Raman Singh is one of the main ministerial in chief candidates. In his power days, the 71-year-old politician won the nickname “Chaaur Wale Baba” for having given cheap rice to the poor for Rs 2-3 per kg.

He is also known as a popular Hindu face, appreciating the support of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and also enjoys popularity among the voters of the upper caste of the State.

Regarding his grass from Rajnandgaon, he is also ready for victory in the constituency – he obtained nearly 48,000 votes against his closest competitor, the Girish Dewangan of the Congress.

Speaking earlier from the BJP victory in the state, he said: “After having traveled through Chhattisgarh, I felt that people were tired of the corruption of the Bhupeh government and a change will occur.

“I knew that people would reject the Ego of Bhupeh (Baghel). The results reflect people’s confidence in Modi Ji’s guarantee, “he added.

However, there is a roadblock for the probable return of Singh to power; He faces allegations of corruption, poor governance and involvement in the multi-co-corore scam of the public distribution system (PDS).

Arun Sao

In the affair, the chief minister is also Arun Sao, 54 years old. He began his political career as a volunteer for the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and was president of the BJP district, Co-School of State and member of the National Work Committee of the ABVP.

Contested from the siege of Lormi, Sao won the elections against his closest rival, Thaneshvar Sahu of Congress, with 45,891 votes. Sao is also considered a close assistant to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Minister of the Interior Amit Shah. He helped relaunch the party’s fortune in the state after the 2018 debacle.

Perhaps one of the largest factors in his favor is that he is a known obc face and that this section of people is about half of the state population.

He was president of the BJP Chhattisgarh unit, from 2006 to 2010, from 2014 to 2014 and 2020 to 2022. He is known for his organizational skills and his relations with party workers.

OP Choudhary

The young leader joined the BJP in 2018 after leaving the IAS after a 13 -year career. The Quint reports that despite no election to date, Choudary is popular and credited with the creation of the educational city of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in the affected district of Dantewada, assigned to Maoist. This large university installation increased during its passage as Dantewada district magistrate between 2011 and 2013.

He is also recognized for the implementation of several social protection regimes in the state such as the “Nanhe Parindey” program for the education of children in the slum, the “Narva, Garva, Ghurva, Bari” program for conservation Water, forest and land resources, and the “Sanjivani” program for the health care of the rural population.
