Widow of hero firefighter Corey Comperatore killed in Trump rally shooting reveals ex-president called her: ‘He was very nice’

The grieving widow of a hero firefighter killed in a failed assassination attempt on Donald Trump said the former president called her Tuesday to offer his condolences.

“He was very kind and said he would continue to call me in the days and weeks to come,” Helen Comperatore wrote of Trump on her private Facebook page.

“I told him the same thing I told everyone. He left this world a hero and God welcomed him. He did not die in vain that day,” she said of her husband, according to a screenshot of the post.

Her husband, Corey Comperatore, was shot and killed by a sniper at a Trump rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday.

Trump’s call comes after the widow refused to take a call from President Biden following her husband’s murder.

“I haven’t spoken to Biden,” she told the Post on Monday.

“I didn’t want to talk to him. My husband was a staunch Republican and he wouldn’t have wanted me to talk to him.”

She added that she had no “ill will” toward the president, but was a staunch Trump supporter.

Her husband, a volunteer firefighter and father of two daughters, was sitting in the stands with his family during the rally when Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, began shooting from a nearby rooftop.

The 50-year-old father yelled “Get down!” and used his body to shield his family from gunfire before being fatally shot, his heartbroken wife told The Post from her home in Sarver, Pennsylvania, on Monday.

A bullet also grazed Trump’s ear as he stood at the podium and two other rally attendees were wounded before Secret Service agents shot and killed Crooks.

Trump had not contacted the family until Tuesday as he continued his campaign and announced his vice presidential pick.
