Why the history of the NFL now says that the Browns have more championships than the Steelers

Cleveland, Ohio – Thanks to a vote from the owners of the NFL at the annual League meeting this week, the Browns now have eight championships recognized by the NFL, which is more than the rival of the six Pittsburgh Steelers Rival titles.

If you are confused because the browns have not yet won a super bowl, don’t worry.

The NFL has announced that it would count the statistics of the All-America football conference, towards official NFL records.

The AAFC lasted 1946-1949 and was an established competitor of the NFL. The first season of the Browns took place in 1946, and although the AAFC did not last four seasons during the four seasons, Cleveland led the league during its existence.

Directed by the co-founder of the Paul Brown franchise, the Browns compiled an AAFC record of 47-4-3 and won the AAFC championship during the four seasons. Twice, they beat the New York Yankees (1946, 1947) before defeating the Buffalo Bills and the 49ers of San Francisco in the last two seasons of the League.

These AAFC titles combined with the four titles of the Browns NFL (1950, 1954, 1955, 1964) give them eight championships recognized by the history of the NFL.

In addition, Brown now has 47 regular season wins and nine victories in the playoff series added to his coach record. This takes him to seventh place in the history of the NFL with 222 victories in total.

Cleveland was the headliner of the AAFC.

So much so that the last match of the League before the merger with the NFL was the AAFC All-Star match, but between the Browns and an All-Star team compared to the players of the other six teams.

Seven of Cleveland players with Brown will become members of the Professional Football Temple, and some of these players will benefit from the AAFC added to the official NFL records.

There is the quarter-Arrière Otto Graham, who won the AAFC MVP in 1947. There are currently 95th in the career work sites (23,584), and 10,085 of these yards came from his stay in the AAFC.

Browns Fullback Marion Motley’s Yards by portage, including AAFC seasons, leads all runners with an average of 5.7. Only Michael Vick, Randall Cunningham and Lamar Jackson are ahead of him. In career sites, he was equal to the 176th (4,720) and 3,024 of them came from his days from the AAFC.
