In a huge upheaval for the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party, the party failed to reach the majority of 272 in its own right during the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) led by the party of the party Safran is ahead in 292 seats and the opposition block in India in 232 seats.
With the BJP in the running for a third consecutive term at the center, he would examine his allies to achieve his goal. All eyes are now on Chandrababu Naidu and Janata Dal (United) by Chandrababu Naidu and Janata Dal (United) or JD (U), which could very well be the King-Fabricants in these general elections.
With the track by the chief minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar, several flip flops in recent years, the BJP and even the Indian block could try to court it. JD (U) is currently part of the NDA led by the BJP.
But could that change? Let’s take a look.
2024 Bihar Lok Sabha elections
In accordance with the latest trends published by the India Electoral Commission (ECI), the BJP and its JD (U) ally won 12 seats each over the 40 districts of Lok Sabha in Bihar.
The Saffron Party won eight seats and leads in four, while Nitish’s party is ahead of six seats and won six others. The partner of the NDA, the Lok Janshakti party (RAM Vilas), seems to secure the five seats it disputed.
Another ally of the NDA, the chief of Hindustani Awam Morcha (secular), Jitan Ram Manjhi, won the siege of Gaya Lok Sabha, obtaining 494,960 votes and beating the candidate Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) by more than a Lakh vote.
The BJP, which was considered the main partner of the JD (U) as Lok Sabha’s elections approached, fought out on 17 seats, one more than the party of Nitish. According to the NDA seats’ sharing formula, the (s) and Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) received a seat each.
In the case of the coalition of India, the RJD presented candidates on 26 seats, the congress on nine seats and the left parties on the other five, according to Indian Express.
The RJD has an advantage in three seats and put one in a bag despite its greatest part of voting among all the parties: 22.08%. The JD (U) has a share of voting of almost 19% and the BJP holds 20.48%.
The congress won three seats and a share of a voting of just over nine percent.
The Communist Party of India (Marxist -Leninist) (Liberation) – CPI (ML) could obtain two seats.
Nitish’s’Paltu Ram‘ways
The doubts about the place where the loyalty of Nitish Kumar is not without substance.
The veteran politician has a long association with the NDA and even served as Minister of the Union in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee in 1998-99, then again in 2000-2004.
However, he has often changed camp in recent years. In 2014, the head of JD (U) senior left the NDA to protest against the rise of Narendra Modi at the national level, according to Indian Express. He then challenged the Bihar Lok Sabha polls, but only managed to win two seats.
Nitish forged an alliance with his RJD of Frenemy Lalu Prasad Yadav in the 2015 assembly elections in Bihar. While they have trained the government, Nitish abandoned its new partner in two years.
The Bihar CM has returned to the NDA, with the Alliance, which also included the Lok Janshakti party of Ram Vilas Paswan, sweeping 39 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats in 2019.
A year later, the JD (U) won only 43 of the 243 districts of the Assembly in the Bihar, the Safran party emerging as a senior partner with 74 seats.
Despite the most BJP seats, Nitish was sworn in as chief minister. However, when he became “increasingly uncomfortable” with the Safran party, he broke the alliance and joined the RJD in 2022, according to Indian Express.
In January of this year, Nitish Kumar, who is sadly famous as “Paltu Ram” in Bihar, took a U-turn and returned to the Giron de la Nda.
This decision made a lot by surprise because it was the chief of JD (U) who had led the efforts to form the coalition of India. He had approached the congress and other anti-bJP parties to assume the BJP of Narendra Modi and stop the NDA mastodon in the 2024 polls.
The ambitions of the Prime Minister of Nitish are a secret of Polichinelle. While he said publicly that he had left the Indian block due to a delay in the seats sharing talks, NDTV Sources said that the Bihar CM had left the alliance because it was not even considered for the PM position if the opposition wins.

Is another rocking in preparation?
Even if the BJP does not win the majority, it is always the single part of this election, ready to win 240 seats.
He will now need his allies to form the government. JD (u) of Nitish could play a key role in the realization.
For the moment, his party leaders have denied any plan to change camps. “… We continue with our previous stand. Under the direction of Nitish Kumar, JD (U) again expresses his support for the NDA … We are with the NDA, we will continue to be with the NDA, “said JD (U) spokesperson (U) News18.
“We are firmly with the NDA. We will train the government in the center, “said JD (U) Minister Madan Sahani.
The deputy for the Bihar CM Samrat Choudhary arrived at the Nitish residence on Tuesday in Patna.
One day before the results of Lok Sabha, Nitish Kumar visited Delhi and met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. JD (u) had nicknamed it a “courtesy call”, according to Indian Express.

During a rally in Aurangabad in March, the Bihar CM assured Prime Minister Modi of his loyalty. “You came earlier too but I had disappeared. But I’m with you now. I assure you that I will not go here and there. I will stay with you only, ”he said.
The opposition in India indicated that its doors were open to Nitish if it wants to return. It was also reported that the veteran chief Sharad Pawar, of the Indian block, composed the Bihar CM while the results were running. However, earlier in the day, the chief of the nationalist congress (Sharadchandra Pawar) rejected speculation.
The RJD hopes that Nitish and Chandrababu Naidu, whose TDP recorded a landslide victory at the same time at the polls of the Assembly and Lok Sabha in Andhra Pradesh, would pour the NDA because the two leaders have a “aversion to the Vendetta policy ”.
“We were once in alliance with Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu. We know that they share an aversion to Vendetta’s policy that the BJP represents. Narendra Modi seems to be about to go out. We hope that the two leaders will play a crucial role in the change of guard in the center, “said RJD spokesman Manoj Kumar Jha News18.
When asked if the Lalu Prasad from RJD and Tejashwi Yadav were in contact with Nitish, he replied: “Those who need to contact him speak to him. Our Chef Tejashwi Yadav said for some time that Nitish Kumar will make a big decision around June 4 ”.
Will Nitish Kumar make the BJP eat the crow? Or will he remain loyal this time? Only time will tell us.
