Why streamers like Kai Cenat are named in Drake’s UMG lawsuit

That Drake filed formal defamation complaint against Universal Music Group (UMG), accusing the company of spreading the false narrative that he is a pedophile through Kendrick Lamar’s now-legendary track, “Not like us» annoyed many members of the Hip-Hop community.

But a group of individuals named deep within the complaint are particularly upset. On pages 52 and 53 of long suitThe Toronto rapper’s lawyers name several content creators and allege that UMG allowed those personalities to monetize reactions to Lamar’s diss track without asserting copyright.

Drake believes this helped spread false allegations that he is a child predator and is an example of society prioritizing money over the 6-God’s reputation.

The content creators involved in the suit are among the most popular online. They understand Kai CénatNoLifeShaq, RDC Gaming, Famille Cartier and Zias.

Their reactions to Lamar’s dissident piece garnered millions of views, with the lowest gaining 2 million (Famille Cartier) and the highest gaining 9 million (Kai Cenat).

Reactions from content creators

Naturally, the named creators (and many of those who weren’t) are unhappy with Drizzy and have criticized him on social media and other online platforms.

Perhaps the loudest was No Life Shaq, who posted a 10-minute YouTube video titled “DRAKE SNITCHED ON ME!” »

In the video, he says: “That n***a Drake exposed the reaction community! Nigga, we relax, we have fun, and you signed us up for a deal? This has to be the sweetest nigga ever, dog.

RDC Gaming responded during the broadcast simply saying, “One thing I’ve learned in my life is this guy… The biggest ‘L’s come from not knowing how to take an ‘L.’ Some n****s just take an L and move on.

Zias probably had the most explosive reaction when he learned he was named in the lawsuit, and even jokingly called a lawyer to let him know he was suing Drake.

Now, remember that these are just reactions from people named in the suit. Several other content creators who reacted to “Not Like Us” (and Drake’s dissing tracks) shared similar sentiments and continued to criticize the Toronto rapper for his decision to name content creators in his lawsuit.

Social media reaction

Frustrated hip-hop fans on

A user wrote“WAIT LOL, I just realized that Drake denounced the black streamers who reacted to his video and not the white ones lol.”

Another user added“Drake named all the black streamers in his case and now he’s in a draw with Adin Ross.”

This just adds to the long list of reasons why Drake should not have taken legal action and we are seeing the consequences of his actions in real time, dating back almost a year ago when he begged Lamar to “let it go, let it go, let it gop. »
