WWE and AAA The worlds collide The cross event brought together two major powers of struggle, but a name discussed behind the scenes did not end up on the broadcast. Mike Tenay, a voice respected in professional struggle, was considered for the show – but it ultimately did not appear, and now we know why.
Tenay, who made his debut to announce during the original When the worlds collide event in 1994, was contacted to participate in the WWE X AAA collaboration of this year. As Dave Meltzer revealed in the episode of June 8, 2025 of Wrestling observer radio,, Things did not meet.
“Yeah, so Mike Tenay was invited to be part of the show. They wanted to comment – or at least appear – and they could not accept money. That’s it. There is no warmth, no disagreement beyond that – it just didn’t work.”
There had already been speculation to find out if Tenay had even been contacted. Meltzer’s update confirms that it was approached, but the talks did not lead to an agreement.
WWE and AAA have kept the details of the comments under the Wraps before the event. The only official outdoor return announced in advance was Lilian Garcia, who was an advertiser in the ring.
The name of Tenay being in the conversation shows the level of thought that WWE and AAA put in the presentation of the event – even if an agreement was not concluded at the end.
What do you think Mike Tenay was contacted but did not appear to The worlds collide? Should WWE and AAA have to go further to bring it coming? Place your thoughts in the comments below.
