Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman missed the team’s white house celebration on Monday due to being placed on the team injured with a persistent ankle problem.
Freeman had to be the player to represent the dodgers to speak to the desk during the event with President Donald Trump.
The first basic player did not travel to Washington DC with the team because of his ankle injury and was replaced by Clayton Kershaw, who also spoke to the White House to honor the 2020 championship team.
Some baseball fans have hypothesized that Freeman had jumped the event because of his political convictions.
Trump, in his second mandate as president, is a controversial figure because of his rhetoric and his policies, in particular his denigration of Colin Kaepernick from 2017, which extinguished many color athletes to support him.
Other professional teams, such as the Eagles of Philadelphia winnings from the Super Bowl, did not make declarations to visit the White House with Trump in power.
Freddie Freeman missed the celebration of the White House of Dodgers due to an ankle injury
The Dodgers were in the White House on Monday to celebrate their victory in 2024 World Series
Some online who posted on Freeman jumping under the guise of not liked for Trump were corrected by those who knew his designation he. However, some were convinced that it was a coverage for his disgust for the American leader.
“His excited ankle would be really difficult to go to the White House with it. Brutal. Dude played 5 games and on the field and could barely walk. I’m sure he couldn’t empty an ankle sprain to visit a president whom he actually loved ” said a social media user.
The teams visiting the White House during the season after winning a championship generally correspond, except in the NFL, with a match on the road against a team based in Washington DC.
In the NBA and the NHL, the championship teams would make a trip to the west wing before facing the wizards and the capitals respectively.
This is the case with the Dodgers, which started a series against the Nationals on Monday evening.
Freeman did not comment on missing the celebration of the White House.
