Why Britney Spears Broke Up With Boyfriend Paul Soliz

Britney Spears broke up with her felon boyfriend Paul Soliz because she felt he took advantage of her luxurious lifestyle, a source tells Page Six.

The pop princess dumped Soliz about three weeks ago after realizing he was taking advantage of her and using her for power, sources familiar with the matter told TMZ Thursday.

Spears, 42, has since reportedly asked her security guards to remove her former housekeeper-turned-lover from the entry list for her gated community in Thousand Oaks, California.

Insiders told the outlet that the Grammy winner was happy to finally see Soliz’s true face and cut him off.

A second source who knows Spears exclusively told Page Six that those around her are also “relieved that Soliz is out of the picture after a tumultuous relationship.”

While TMZ reported that the singer’s brother, Bryan Spears, moved in with her following the split, we previously heard that he had been living with her since her divorce from Sam Asghari last year.

Britney’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The “(You Drive Me) Crazy” singer was first linked to Soliz shortly after Asghari, 30, filed to end their year-long marriage in August 2023.

A source told us at the time that the handyman — who has been charged with multiple felonies over the past two decades, including gun possession — was hired to work at Britney’s without a background check and ended up having a romantic relationship with her.

The tumultuous nature of their romance was revealed in May after the couple had a fight at the Chateau Marmont in Los Angeles, during which the “Woman in Me” singer injured her ankle.

One friend told us at the time that they were “worried” about Britney because Soliz was “bad news from the start,” while another confidant described the father of at least nine as “extremely dangerous.”

The “Crossroads” star announced her split from the convicted felon on Sunday by attacking him on Instagram for rolling down his car window while she cried in April so paparazzi could see her.

Britney said in her post that she was “single as hell” and claimed she would “never be with another man” as long as she lived.
