Delhi obtained his new chief minister in the leader of the Bharatiya Janata (BJP) party, Rekha Gupta. The MLA of Shalimar Bagh was sworn in as Delhi CM today (February 20) during a mega ceremony at the Ground Historic Ramlila.
With this, the 50 -year -old has become the fourth woman -in -chief of the national capital. It is also the fourth face of the BJP to lead the territory of the Union after Madan Lal Khurana, Sahib Singh Verma and Sushma Swaraj.
GUPTA stung names like Paroves Verma, Vijender Gupta, STATH UPADHYAY, ASHISH SOOD and Shikha ROY to take over the upper post. She is now the first BJP CM in Delhi after 27 years.
But why did the saffron festival choose it?
Understand.
Rekha Gupta, a first BJP legislator, defeated the triple of the Aam Aadmi (AAP) Mla Bandana Kumari party by more than 29,000 Shalimar Bagh votes in the Delhi elections.
Belonging to the Vaishya community, GUPTA has lasting links with the ideological parent of the BJP – the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). She joined the WSS student wing, Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), in 1992.
Bcom graduate of the Daulat RAM College of the University of Delhi, GUPTA has had experience in politics for 30 years. She was secretary of the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) in 1995 and became her president the following year.
After Sushma Swaraj – whose mandate only lasted 52 days, Gupta is the second woman chosen by the BJP to govern Delhi. Her identity as a woman in the Bania community has helped her case with the best Saffron brass.
The BJP tries to send a direct message to the AAP with its selection. The head of the AAP and former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal is also of the same caste as Gupta. Like satisfy K Jha, professor of political science at the Aryabhatta College of du Indian ExpressThe Kejriwal party continues to stand on the communities of Purvchali and Vahya-Bania in Delhi as well as for voter women.

By choosing Gupta, the BJP marches on its discourse on the empowerment of women in electoral policy through more representation. Gupta replaced Aistis d’Aap which was the Delhi CM for only five months, taking up the post after Kejriwal resigned last September.
An initiate of the BJP said The Hindus“The previous minister -in -chief was called” temporary CM “, and now the BJP has been strongly faced with this.”
In particular, GUPTA is the only woman among the 13 ministers in chief of the BJP across the country.
“In her (Rekha Gupta), the BJP found a good combination to replace Kejriwal, a vahya, and Atishi, a woman,” wrote Jha in his opinion article for Indian Express.
With GUPTA, the BJP chose a seasoned politician with a clean image. Unlike her other counterparts – Ramesh Bidhuri and Paroveh Verma, she did not make the headlines to wilt controversies.
While Verma was among the frontrunners of the first job, his identity as the son of the former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma opposed him. If the BJP had chosen it, it would have been under the fire of the opposition on the policy of the dynasty.
Rekha Gupta corresponds to the bill because she is a basic leader who has climbed the ladder within the party.
Delhi Cm Rekha Gupta has her hands full when she takes on her duties. Sources told News18 that leadership and the center of the BJP expect “visible results” in the streets of Delhi in the first 100 days of the formation of the new government.
The BJP made several promises in its manifesto before the elections of the Delhi Assembly. In addition to continuing the social protection plans of the previous AAP government, the BJP also has its own promises to hold.
GUPTA will have to define an appropriate mechanism to pay RS 2,500 to women who are eligible by March 8, a key electoral promise of the Safran party. Other commitments to women include financial assistance from RS 21,000 and six nutritional kits to pregnant women.
The Delhi CM must also guarantee the implementation of the Ayushman Bharat of the Center program, which has not been adopted by the AAP government.
The development of Delhi’s infrastructure, cleaning the Yamuna river and the city’s finance management are some other challenges that Gupta will face in the coming days.
During his electoral campaign, Gupta had promised to make a “viksit Delhi” that a “viksit bharat” deserves as its capital. Now, the inhabitants of the city will expect that it holds this promise.
