In “The Curious Cas of Natalia Grace: The Final Chapter”, the third episode of ID documentaries, Natalia Grace Mans leaves her second set of adoptive parents to live with a new family – Les DEPELS.
Natalia, a Ukrainian orphan with nanism, became famous after being abandoned by her first adoptive family, the Barnetts, triggering a series of legal complications and controversies.
Michael and Kristine Barnett said that Natalia was 6 years old when they adopted it in 2010 – but they ended up believing that she was an adult pretending to be a child. In 2019, Michael and Kristine were arrested and accused of negligence after leaving Natalia in Indiana and moved to Canada. Finally, Michael was acquitted and the accusations of Kristine were rejected.
The complex benefits between Natalia and the Barnetts inspired the new scripted mini-series of Hulu, “Good American family“A dramatic touch from the final of the season, which was broadcast on Wednesday, reveals how the case against the barnetts went wrong – but the story ends with a note full of hope for Natalia, which sets up with Cynthia and Mans Antwon and their other children.
However, in real life, Natalia does not stick to the family of men long.
In the second episode of “The Final Chapter”, which was presented as a first on Discovery and Max inquiry in January, Nicole Depaul, 49, and her daughter Mackenzie, 19, go to Nashville to take Natalia to the church without her parents. They then lead her to live with them in New York State, where Nicole lives with her husband, Vince Depaul, 51 years old.
DEPAULS are a family of small people, and Nicole and Natalia both have the same form of naism, producer Shannon Evangelista at Hollywood Reporter told. They also have a link dating from Natalia’s childhood, when the family planned to adopt it.
Here is all that to know about the Deepls and where Natalia now lives.

Departments were one of the three families interested in adopting Natalia Grace in 2009. As part of this process, they met Natalia in a museum and had it several times.
Natalia and Mackenzie got along well as a child and bound themselves when Natalia visited a vacation. After Christmas, however, the adoption failed and they could not meet again.
“Things have become really messy with lawyers. It had nothing to do with Natalia. It was heartbreaking,” said Nicole in “Natalia Speaks”, the second episode in the series broadcast in 2024.
Nicole says in a confessional in episode one of “The Final Chapter” that she has always thought of the adoption that did not pass. She even kept a photo of Natalia and her daughter as a child, as well as Natalia’s Christmas stockings.
“There is a lot of guilt because, well, maybe there was something that we could have fought harder when we tried to adopt Natalia,” she said in episode one of “The Final Chapter”.
While the two previous seasons of “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace” said, after the attempted adoption of the Deepls failed, Natalia was finally adopted by Kristine and Michael Barnett, the couple of Indiana who later said that Natalia was really an adult passing as a child. Later, they legally repressed her and left her alone in an apartment when they moved to Canada.
Natalia then went to live with Cynthia and Antwon Mans, another Indiana couple who had favored and adopted several children, while the barnetts were accused of negligence in relation to her abandonment (Michael was finally acquitted, and the case against Kristine was abandoned).

In “The Final Chapter”, the boyfriend of Natalia Grace, Neil, contacted Nicole on behalf of Natalia, asking her to help Natalia to leave the family of men, who had officially adopted her in 2023 after having lived with them for a decade. Although Nicole’s husband, Vince, hesitates to bring Natalia to their homes, Nicole agreed to help Natalia.
In episode two of “The Final Chapter”, Nicole and Mackenzie choose Natalia from her church without the Lonebur of the Mans family and lead her to live with them in New York State. Although he left his parents, Natalia’s attachment to them led to a friction between her and Nicole.
In the show, Nicole and Mackenzie also talk about the effect that Natalia was in their house on the family. Nicole said in a confessional that she had seen her daughter “much less” than before, and Mackenzie said that Natalia’s presence made “the slightly stressful environment”.
Now, Shannon Evangelista, one of the producers of the docuseries, says that the Departments are the “defenders n ° 1” of Natalia. Nicole told people that she did not intend to adopt Natalia, who is now legally adult, and although their relationship has not always been fluid, she trusts him.
“Did she probably do strange things in the past? Yeah,” said Nicole to people. “(But) when you take a child, you take this child like yours. You don’t get rid of it when it is not integrating into your puzzle.”
Natalia said in “The Final Chapter” that, even if she regretted the way she left her parents, she appreciated that living with the Daulles allowed her to “explore”.
“Learning everything I have about how to live with my naism-it was a great experience,” she told people. “I love it. I mean, of course, I still miss my brothers and sisters and everything. But I love it. I feel free.”
Nicole and Vince Depaul did not respond to a request for comments.
