Another week, another “Monday Night Football” game that will have a significant impact on the Wild Card. This one will be between two NFC teams fighting to stay relevant. Every team desperately needs a win to stay alive in the No.6 or 7 seed race.
The most desperate team for a win is the Seahawks. Seattle fell to 3-7 after starting the season 2-2. They’ve struggled since Russell Wilson injured his finger in a Week 5 loss to the Rams, and even Pete Carroll is showing signs of frustration.
That said, Seattle will face the Washington soccer team in Week 12. Washington has played very well in its last two games and has won victories over NFC enemies South Tampa Bay and Carolina. Washington’s defense is starting to get back into shape, and if they can make a push, they’ll have a chance to make some noise in the playoffs. A win would take them to 5-6 this season, which would put them well within reach of some of the other NFC Wild Card prospects.
Here’s everything you need to know about ESPN’s Monday Night Football game for Week 12, including kick-off time and more.

Who is playing “Monday Night Football” tonight?
- Match: Seahawks in Washington
- Site: FedEx Field in Landover, Maryland.
Washington (4-6) hosts the Seahawks (3-7) on “Monday Night Football” during week 12. This game has only been played 21 times in NFL history and their meeting in 2021 has never happened. will be only the sixth since the start of the 2011 NFL Season.
Washington enters this contest after winning back-to-back games after his week off. The team have improved to 4-6 over the season and are within one-berth strike distance of the Wild Card. Washington’s defense is playing much better and has allowed an average of 20 points in its two wins over Tom Brady’s Buccaneers and Cam Newton’s Panthers.
If Washington is to continue their winning streak, they will need their defense to play well again. He will also need Taylor Heinicke to continue to perform well. Heinicke completed 77.8% of his passes for 462 yards and four touchdowns in the two wins. The Seahawks are one of two teams that allow more than 400 total yards per game, so it will be up to Heinicke to take advantage.
As for the Seahawks, they have struggled in recent weeks despite the return of Russell Wilson. They are 1-5 in their last six games and have scored just 13 points in their last two outings. Wilson appears to be feeling ill effects from the finger injury that sidelined him for three games, and perhaps his four-week return from an injury that was expected to take six to eight weeks to heal was premature.
Wilson will have to bring his A-game against Washington. Washington’s secondary team have had poor performances this year and may struggle to contain DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett. But Wilson will need to show an ability to pass the ball to them, and his offensive line will need to give him enough time to bring the ball down as well.
