‘White Lotus’: Aimee Lou Wood and Walton Goggins on the relationship of Chelsea and Rick

Warning: Major Spoilers to come for “The White Lotus” season three.

Chelsea’s warning that “bad things happen in three” realized on Sunday in the final of season three of “The White Lotus”, when, after escaping a flight and being bitten by a snake during a reptile show, she finally met her end.

The desperate romantic played by Aimee Lou Wood died in the cross -fire of the very cut shootout of the show, who ended up being between his elusive boyfriend and impulsive Rick (Walton Goggins) and the newly armed hotel guards, who came after Rick after shooting Jim (Scott Glenn), who, he said, kicked his father (but Jim East Rick’s father).

The couple’s final scene shows Chelsea and Rick lying lifeless in water, their bodies and their intertwined destinies. Fans in the eyes of the eagle pointed out that the composition of their body in the blow even resembles a symbol of Yinyang, a reminder of the previous commentary of Chelsea according to which she and Rick are in a “battle of Yin and Yang, and I hope, and Rick is pain”.

Finally, as Chelsea says, one of them will win. And it turns out that it was Rick.

The goggins and the Wood agree that the end of their characters was tragic.

“She is the most full of hope in the series and that is why she must die, but obviously, at a human level, it’s really sad,” Wood told GQ on April 7.

In an interview with Vulture published on the same day, Goggins described Chelsea as the “very thing he had looked for all his life”, who “looked at him”.

“It’s irony, and it’s the fucking tragedy,” he added.

The show clearly indicated that Chelsea and Rick are very different people as they see the world. And it seems that in real life, Wood and Goggins also differ in the way they see the relationship between their characters.

Wood told GQ that she thought that Rick and Chelsea’s relationship was unilateral.

“I think it’s really confronted for some because there are a lot of people who have been Chelsea and it’s painful when you love someone and they don’t give you anything. It hurts,” she said. “It is only after having left this relationship that you are going to:” What had I done for so long, how did I do that? “”

Goggins, however, have a more romantic vision of the couple, describing them as “sister souls” when they speak to the New York Times.

“Does he deserve it? Of course they do it. They are soul mate. Anyone (who does not agree), you are in a state of development arrested, or you are unable to see the nuance in this story,” he said.

But despite the difference in opinion, the glasses praised the wood.

“Aimee Lou is a real darling. I have had chemistry for a long time. I had chemistry with many different people in many different kinds. From the start, the very first time we met in Thailand, chemistry was there,” he said. “It was as if we have been friends and souls at a certain level for a very long time.”
