The Three Lions came agonizingly close to going all the way at Euro 2020 when they were pushed to the post in the penalty shootout against Italy at Wembley Stadium.

But with England’s star players benefitting from four more years of experience at the highest level, they will be hoping to finish the job this time around.

Including England’s three group stage matches, they will need to play a total of seven matches in Germany if they want to achieve Euro 2024 glory.

However, in doing so Southgate’s side will face the challenge of Europe’s top footballing nations.

Here are the full details of England’s fixtures (and potential fixtures), with all kick-off times to be confirmed unless otherwise stated…

Sunday June 16

First day: Serbia – England (8 p.m.) – Arena AufSchalke, Gelsenkirchen

Thursday June 20

If England top the group

England should have a straight-forward draw in the last 16 before the big guns beckon.

Germany, Spain or Italy would probably come next in the quarter-finals, before France or Belgium in the last four.

A final against Portugal could then decide who wins the trophy.

Round of 16: June 30 – England against team ranked third in group D, E or F (5 p.m.)

Quarter-finals: July 6 – England vs vice-champion of group A or vice-champion of group B (8 p.m.)

Semi-finals: July 10 – England vs Winner of the third quarter-final (8 p.m.)

Final: July 14 – England vs Winner of the first semi-final (8 p.m.)

If England finishes second in their group

If England weren’t top of the group and second, a draw against Germany would likely headline the knockout stages.

From there, Spain, Italy or Croatia would then advance to the round of 16 before Portugal or the Netherlands in the semi-finals.

England can then look forward to facing France in the final if they make it.

Round of 16: June 29 – England vs. Group A winner (8 p.m.)

Quarter-finals: July 5 – England vs Winner of the third match of the round of 16 (5 p.m.)

Semi-finals: July 9 – England vs Winner of the second quarter-final (8 p.m.)

Final: July 14 – England vs Winner of the second semi-final (8 p.m.)

If England finish third in their group, their schedule will not be decided until after the group stage has been settled.
