Where to Pick Your Own Bay Area Cherries in Brentwood, Morgan Hill, in 2023

It’s been a wait, thanks to the cold and gloomy weather, but the happiest time of the year for fruit lovers is finally here: the annual start of the cherry picking season.

Two major cherry orchards have released U-pick dates in late May: the Borello Family Farms aka U-Pick Orchards location in Morgan Hill (opening May 26) and Mike’s U-Pick in Brentwood (opening May 26). May 31st). Here’s the Facebook ad and website for Mike’s, which has two locations, and the Facebook ad and website for Borello, which opens one of its many locations May 25-29 (more locations opening soon ). A few other places have also recently announced openings, including G&S Farms and Nunn Better Farms in Brentwood, the latter of which was the site of a lot of pickings this past weekend ($4 a pound, two varieties).

“Our farming region has had some strange weather this year – not doing exactly what is needed to ripen the fruit as quickly as usual,” Mike’s wrote. But now is the time to color your hands while picking the most delicious drupe from the tree.
